Ferhat Göçer was born in Şanlıurfa, a Southeastern city in Anatolia. He holds a medical degree from Istanbul University and a degree from the Istanbul State Conservatory. He is known for his eclectic style, his wide range of song selection (such as Rembetika, Chansons, classical Turkish music songs, Turkish folk music songs and others), and his introduction of Eastern sounds to Western songs.
